2.6Unbelievable hygiene, food quality and priceOur family had been the regular customer for Hoang yen restaurant. However, we have never tried the food at their buffet, so we decided to give it a try at the Hoang yen Buffet Takashimaya for birthday dinner. We were the first two customer to be seated at 6pm today(14th March, 2018). As we could see, there are many options for food. From Western, Vietnamese, korean to Japanese. The plating itself and the appearance of the food looks good and attractive. We were excited and happy to start our dinner. However, everything’s changed after I have my first bite on their food.... Hygiene: The food were presented in the steamers with covers. As it just started, I thought they were still preparing for the food so they didnt cover the food with that cover of the steamer. However, none of the food were covered during my whole dinner(roughly from 6-7pm) And some of the steamer didnt even perform properly(as I saw there were no steam coming out). At the same time, during my whole dinner, majority of the food, from curry fish, chicken, pork, to stir fried vegetables, nearly all of them were cold! The only exception were the carving station. You know what does it means? 1. Hoang Yen Buffet pre-cooked it for a pretty long time before serving theif food to customers(this is acceptable, thinking of the amount of dishes needed to be prepared) 2. Consider my body temperature is 38 degrees celsius, if I feel the food is even cooler than my body, which indicate, this buffet didnt maintain the temperature of the food to be at 60 degrees. ( This is the worst mistake you can ever make for a buffet, as its not even meeting what HACCP required) 3. The food might be just reheated from lunch, or not even reheated and put directly to the steamer and then serve to the customers. 4. Its either they didnt mention or train their staff in the buffet to follow HACCP or the management team completely ignored these at the buffet. Normally at least theres a runner who should be keep their eyes on the food and refill the food, then this person should at least cover the food when he/she see these. But no, the whole process, I saw server talking, smiling, but none of them did that, nor the supervisor. Food quality: To be honest, even street food would serve me something hot. While a buffet at this price range could not even make it? Too bad. The food was either overcooked, or too salty. The lobster that they served for free, was completely overcooked like a plastic. The chicken were overcooked, the pork bbq were stone cold. All these could be not objective enough, as everyone got their own taste. So we simply consider the temperature they were serving their main dishes. Nearly all of the main dishes (beside craving station) were cooler than my body temperature, then you can already imagine how bad the food quality is. Price: We had 3 adults and one 1.5 years old baby. It ended up with a bill costing 2million for this meal. With the quality and hygiene like this, 2 million is completely overpriced. From all above, tonight’s experience totally destroyed my faith towards the quality of food from Hoang yen group. And I feel truly disappointed towards my experience in Hoang yen Buffet at Takashimaya. Its hard, no. Its unbelievable that as a big group like Hoang yen serve food without HACCP and low quality while charging incredibly high price. The related S.O.P. for food safety , training and management should be reviewed immediately. I point this out as I feel Hoang Yen did a good job in other restaurants, but this buffet have nothing alike with hoang yen beside the name. ...Xem thêm
