8.0Ty Coz RestaurantWe're pleased to finally open our first review of a french restaurant in Saigon! This is none other than the cosy and no frills place called Ty Coz. Ty Coz is a MUST visit if you're looking for french cuisine. It is a hidden gem located in a local residental house (tall and slim building) tucked away in an alley off Pasteur road. Hence, it is very centralized in the heart of the city. When dining at Ty Coz one must come in a relax mode to enjoy the entire dining experience. For instance, there is no standard food menu at Ty Coz. The menu changes according to what the chef manages to prize from the market. So you can expect the food to be freshed. But back to the menu, its co-owner, Philip and brother of the chef would go through every dish that is written on the menu board. This would take abt 20mins! So if you're expecting a quick snappy dinner, this is not the place to go to. Philip takes pride in the food they serve and it shows in how he presents the menu like how he also explains how each dish is prepared and the source of the food. Simply amazing! But patience and attention is required... haha... The food we ordered was no doubt fabulous! The seafood platter we got as a main entrée was more than we had expected... the most spectacular dish that got us pleading for more was the duck entrée served with orange sauce. The meat was cooked to perfection! Almost tasted like a beef steak! We never knew duck could be cooked so sublimely and taste so tender and sweet! Ty Coz also serves crawfish which was available that day on the menu. This delicacy is not a common seafood that you can find in any restaurant. And we were pleased to have tried it at Ty Coz. Overall, Ty Coz serves an exquiste french dining experience in Saigon. Only expect fresh food and cosy service. And of cos a big tab to your bill. We spent close to 1.4 mill vnd for our 3 entrée set which included an appetizer and dessert.
